UK Student Recruitment and Widening Participation

The UK Student Recruitment and Widening Participation team works with students and their supporters across the UK. In addition to the University-wide Open Days and Offer Holder Days, we organiser a number of on-campus events and activities, giving students the opportunity to visit Queen Mary.

Our work in widening participation aims to improve social mobility by improving access to higher education for under-represented groups. More information can be found in our Access and Participation Plans:

QMUL 2020-21 to 2024-25 Access and Participation Plan [PDF 770KB]

In the 2017-18 academic year, in addition to those we met through UCAS & School HE fairs we have worked with:

  • 150+ Schools and colleges
  • 6700+ Young people, excluding UCAS/HE Fairs
  • 45+ UCAS/HE Fairs attended
  • 4000+ prospectuses handed out
  • 19995 visitors to our three Open Days
  • 3000+ visitors to our offer holder days

The day was excellent, students were very engaged and they finished the day with a clear understanding that university is an option for all students regardless of their family circumstance
