Meet the Student Recruitment and Widening Participation Team 

At Queen Mary, we have a team of specialist staff who are dedicated to 'opening the doors of opportunity' ensuring that anyone whom we can support to flourish at Queen Mary can join us.  

Meet the team below and the projects each team member leads and supports on.

Team Member Role and Responsibilities 
Jack Fox  Head of Student Recruitment and Widening Participation  
Poppy Hudghton  Deputy Head of Student Recruitment and Widening Participation
Faye Yasmin Student Recruitment and Widening Participation Manager 
Gideon Woldeslassie  Student Recruitment and Widening Participation Manager (Science & Engineering) Gideon is responsible for the team’s outreach and recruitment work with the Science and Engineering faculty. Gideon also leads the delivery of Queen Mary Futures. 
Alasdair Robertson  Student Recruitment and Widening Participation Manager (Medicine & Dentistry) Alasdair is responsible for the team’s outreach and recruitment work with the Medicine and Dentistry faculty. Alasdair leads the delivery of Bridge the Gap programme 
Anam Hoque Student Recruitment and Widening Participation Senior Officer  Anam is responsible for the delivery of student recruitment activities in the UK. His focus is on developing and managing relationships with schools and colleges and providing events and resources for teachers and careers advisers. He also visits schools and colleges to deliver presentations on a variety of topics and hosts students and teachers on campus visits.
Alice Stonehouse  Student Recruitment and Widening Participation Senior Officer Alice is responsible for the team’s online content, Journey to Higher Education webinar series, Digital Content hub and Teacher and Career Adviser activities such as the Teacher's Conference. 
Tamanna Baksh  Student Recruitment and Widening Participation Senior Project Officer Tamanna is responsible for delivering a programme of outreach and attainment activity with the university’s Sponsored Academies as well as leading on activities for parents and carers, including overseeing the pilot East London Parent Power project in partnership with The Brilliant Club.   
Jenna Darby  Student Recruitment and Widening Participation Project Coordinator Jenna is responsible for the organisation of campus visits and supports the Access to Queen Mary and Realising Opportunity outreach programmes. 
Mahdi Rahmani Student Ambassador and Events Coordinator Mahdi is responsible for Queen Mary's student ambassador scheme Mahdi also coordinates campus tours and supports the administration of campus-based activities.
Rebecca Swain  Senior Data and Evaluation Officer
