Profile

Jonathan is reading a PhD in Creative Writing and Performance. Traction: A queer cultural memoir is a creative non-fiction project that through creative writing, performance and queer theory tries to get to grips and come to terms with the emotional, semantic and aesthetic consequences of contemporary cultural logics of capital.

Jonathan is an actor, writer and curator and has created programmes of work in film and performance for the British Film Institute (London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival), The National Portrait Gallery (Iconic) and The Barbican (Anxiety Arts Festival London 2014) and published work in Soundings, Textual Practice, The Times, Sight and Sound, The Guardian and The Pink Paper. He was awarded Space Theatre's 2018 Performer of the Year for playing Jimmy in Simon Stephen’s Bluebird and has played lead roles in The Captive at the Arcola Theatre with the queer collective and Seconds, his own work, at The Rosemary Branch Theatre.
