This project transformed how engineering students at Queen Mary University of London learn Python. Developed in response to an accessibility challenge, 46% of students had no prior programming experience. The toolkit combined a Common Errors Guide with practice activities grounded in real-world scenarios. My contribution focused on simplifying concepts and designing exercises that built confidence, accelerated debugging and supported learners across ability levels. Feedback from more than 250 students showed improved understanding, engagement and independence. The project won the People’s Choice Award at the London Student Sustainability Conference and was published by QMUL’s Centre for Excellence in AI in Education.
