In my research project, “Student Researchers Breaking Barriers: Exploring How STEM and SHAPE Can Drive Education for Sustainability,” I investigated how universities can better integrate sustainability into postgraduate teaching. I conducted a detailed literature review on effective pedagogical approaches for education for sustainable development and mapped sustainability content across 108 engineering modules at Queen Mary and UCL. Using this analysis, I helped create a toolkit to assess how well courses embed sustainability goals. I shared my findings and co-authored papers at the Engineering Education for Sustainable Development conference hosted by Kings College London, contributing practical recommendations that support more impactful, sustainability-focused engineering education curricula.
