The changes are as follows:

  • The current “Local Search” tab will be renamed to “Books, e-books and DVDs”
  • The current “Global Search” tab will be renamed to “Articles and more”
  • “Books, e-books and DVDs” will be set as the default search option (currently the Global Search is default)
  • The “Articles and more” result page will be limited so that only full-text results will appear as default. Non full-text results will still be accessible by unticking the “Full Text” filter on the left-hand side menu.

“Books, e-books and DVDs” tab will only display physical or digital resources owned by Library Services and the “Articles and more” tab will return all other electronic resources, including journal articles and database entries.

There will no longer be a search option where all of the Library collections can be searched.

The Help with Library Search page will be updated accordingly after the go-live date to assist you.

If you are unable to find a resource, you can request an Inter-Library loan or request a book or e-book using the More Books service.

If you have questions, please email library@qmul.ac.uk.
