As part of the Mile End Library Transformation project, the reading room on Floor 2 North will be closing from Monday 4 July until December with replacement services in operation.
Library users are directed to quiet reading rooms on Floor 1, and to the new quiet room on the ground floor between the Welcome Desk and the Teaching Collection. A fetching service will be in operation so all book stock on Floor 2 North will be available on request; to request items please complete the Requesting Items from Mile End Library 2nd floor North form. We aim to make items available within 24 hours, but some items may take longer. There are 3 dedicated times for library services staff to pick up and process your reservations, up from the original 2 times. Please use the online form to make the request.
If a print item on the fetching list cannot be found and is available as an ebook, we will purchase the ebook if it can be obtained quickly enough to be useful to the requesting student. If a chapter is needed rather than a whole book, we will request an electronic chapter via the Rapid Inter-Library Loan service. Please note this will not be available for every title – but we will obtain any that are available. Please complete the request form for Inter-Library Loans to request these items.
