Research Topic: Diversity, Difference and Generational Change in the British Diplomatic Service

I am a PhD student with a Collaborative Doctoral Award (CDA), co-supervised by Queen Mary and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). I am based with the FCO's in-house team of historians while I complete my research. My thesis looks at diversity and difference in the British Diplomatic Service, examining the ways in which the FCO has tried to modify the social profile of its diplomats in line with broader changes in British society since 1945.
