Research Interests:

My major research interest is the debunking of the idea of human rights. It is a point that is perfectly illustrated in my PhD ‘The Origins of the 1981 African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights ’ which, for the first time, situates this political statement in its particular historical context rather than the so-called universal human rights tradition.

I am currently editing and expanding the PhD with a view to publication and writing articles on specific aspects of the process by which the African human rights charter came about.
