Thank you for selecting us as your Firm choice.
The information and advice is designed to guide you through the required steps needed to go from firm offer holder (conditional or unconditional) to enrolment. Fitness to practise requirements such as Occupational Health and DBS (police clearance), are necessary steps you must take before you can receive an unconditional offer, so please ensure you read the information carefully.
Occupational Health and DBS (police clearance) checks are mandatory for the following programmes:
Three year Direct Clinical Entry - IMU and St Andrews (A300)
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS)/Oral Medicine programme (A30X)

Offer Holder Check List
-
Submit an Occupational Health Check
-
Complete and pay for an Enhanced DBS clearance check
- Submit the completed Qualification Verification Form and certificates for all qualifications listed on your application (A100, A101 and A200 programmes only)
Students who have applied to study health programmes are required to obtain Occupational Health clearance. This is to ensure that you are fit for all aspects of the course, and also to protect the public who may be affected by your placement activities.
OH Works Ltd is an independent Occupational Health (OH) service who are processing your health clearance, to ensure you are fit to enrol at the university and fit for your practice placements. OH Works Ltd will be responsible for your Occupational Health throughout your time at Queen Mary, you can contact them on qmulstudents@ohworks.co.uk
Occupational Health clearance is a condition of your offer so it is imperative that you complete and submit your OH form by the stipulated deadline. Do not delay as we may need more information from you, or your GP, which may delay things further. Please complete the Occupational Health Questionnaire
- Ensure that you select the right healthcare course that you are holding an offer for as inputting this incorrectly, may delay your clearance and starting the course.
- Check your emails regularly as we may contact you by email (including your Spam/Junk emails).
- Ensure you are available on your mobile phone as OH Works may contact you to ask further questions. This may be during the day, evenings or weekends.

All healthcare professionals have to be DBS cleared under the Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, therefore it is a requirement that you complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before being permitted to start the programme. Having a criminal conviction may not exclude you from joining the course but we have a duty to the public to exclude applicants who have convictions for violent offences or offences against children or vulnerable adults.
Prior to enrolment you will need to complete a DBS check as clearance is required in order for you to be able to undertake your programme. DBS checks can take several months, so it is important that you start the process as soon as possible even if your placement is not due to start at the beginning of your programme. Offer holders will receive all emails regarding DBS from dbs@qmul.disclosures.co.uk Therefore, please ensure that you check that you mark this email address as 'safe' so that any emails regarding your DBS are received and to ensure that you do not have any outstanding actions to take.
The process will vary depending on if you are currently resident in the UK or overseas.
UK Residents: Please follow the UK Resident Instructions below
Overseas Residents: Please follow the Non-UK Residents Instructions below
Please read the instructions carefully before you start the process to ensure you understand the process and to avoid delays in your DBS check being completed.
Should you have any questions prior to starting the DBS process prior to the start of your programme, please email the Admissions Office smdadmissions@qmul.ac.uk. Any queries after you have started your DBS application should be sent to:
Email: digitalsupport@atlanticdata.co.uk
Phone: 03333 207 312
If you are required to submit an overseas police check, Certificate of Good Conduct, or existing DBS certificate if you are registered with the DBS update service in support of your DBS application, please email this to smdadmissions@qmul.ac.uk prior to the start of your programme.
The qualification verification form is used to confirm that you have achieved the qualifications you listed on your application form when you first applied. This includes anything on the UCAS tariff calculator such as Free Standing Maths or musical instrument exams.
If you have not already done so, please complete and send the qualification verification form with scanned copies of all the qualifications listed on your application, which satisfy our entry requirements including all GCSEs.
Please note, 2026 A Level results will be confirmed directly through UCAS so you do not need to provide evidence of this if you have not yet sat your exams.
