Profile

Dr Somit Prasad qualified from Guy’s Dental Hospital in 2002.  He undertook senior house officer positions in Paediatric dentistry and Oral Surgery at Guys hospital and at Kings college Hospital. In 2004 he joined the Oral and Maxillofacial surgery department at the Royal London Hospital .He gained his MFDS in 2005 from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Since then he has been working in general practice. In 2011 he established his own private practice in Surrey.  In 2012 he joined the teaching staff at the Royal London Hospital Institute of Dentistry, undertaking a part time role in teaching Oral Surgery. In 2016 he was awarded his Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and most recently in 2020 he gained his FHEA from QMUL.

Teaching

Dr Somit Prasad is a part time clinical lecturer in Oral Surgery at The Royal London Hospital, Institute of dentistry. He assists with internal examinations and assessments at QMUL. He has also been appointed as an examiner for the OSCE component of Overseas Registration Examination, which is the national qualification examination for overseas dentist’s examination.
