Profile

Dr Woodhoo currently work's part-time at the Institute of Dentistry as a Clinical Lecturer and is the Joint Clinical Lead for the Barkantine Student Clinic in the Isle of Dogs, London. He teaches Undergraduate Dental (BDS) and Oral Health (BSc) students during their Clinical Training and is an Academic Advisor for Year 5 Dental Students. The rest of the week he is in General Practice in North East London as a general dentist and Educational Supervisor for Health Education England as part of the Dental Foundation Training Scheme.

He is an active member of the British Dental Association being the Section Treasurer for the Bromley and Beckenham BDA. Dr Woodhoo graduated from King's College London in 2007 and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng). He started teaching at Queen Mary, University of London in 2015 and has since completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) attaining the Fellowship to the Higher Education Academy (AdvanceHE).

Teaching

Dr Woodhoo has taught at the Institute of Dentistry since 2015 teaching both Dental and Dental Therapy Students. In this time he has undertaken the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice to further develop his teaching skills as well as attaining the Fellowship of AdvanceHE. He has been a personal tutor since starting and is now an Academic Advisor for Year 5 students.

Since February 2020 he was appointed as Joint Clinical Lead for the Barkantine Outreach centre. Dr Woodhoo has been involved with Student Admissions having sat on the interview panels for 5 years as well as taking part in the open days for the University. Nominated for Best Clinical Tutor in 2020.

Research

Research Interests:

Recently completed a Healthy Eating Audit which has been accepted for publishing. Has worked with several staff members helping in their research and applications such as NIHR.
