Profile

Upon graduating with a BDS degree from the College of Medicine University of Lagos Nigeria in 1994,  I went on to complete a six year postgraduate specialisation in paediatric dentistry and obtained a fellowship (FMCDS) of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. After emigrating to the UK, I completed the statutory examination to obtain full registration as a dentist with the General Dental Council. I went on to achieve a postgraduate certificate in academic practice (PGCAP) at QMUL in 2010 and became a fellow of the higher education academy (FHEA) in 2011. In the same year, I obtained the membership of the faculty of dental surgery (MFDS) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and recently completed a Master of Arts Education for Clinical Contexts with merit in 2019. I serve as a deputy chair for the academic appeals panel and I volunteer as a tutor for one of Queen Mary’s widening participation partners.
