The Engagement and Enterprise Awards recognise outstanding achievement in public engagement, academic enterprise, student enterprise and public relations.
A team of IoD staff led by Dr Aylin Baysan was the finalist for the Involve Award in the Public Engagement categories for the Engagement and Enterprise Awards 2019 for their project entitled “Raising awareness of Oral Health in Diabetes patients”.
This unique public engagement initiative at the IoD aims to raise awareness of oral health problems associated with Diabetes through informational podcasts, patient leaflets and events/talks for patients and for the wider community. Their mission is to help patients manage existing symptoms, improve patient knowledge, and, crucially, to help prevent dental problems from reoccurring.
