Guide to Adjustment

You can apply for a place at Queen Mary through Adjustment If you did better than expected in your exams, exceeding your current firm choice offer.

Adjustment runs from 16-31 August, but you will only have a five-day period during this time to find a place. See the UCAS website for full information on how Adjustment works.

1.   Registering for Adjustment

Once your original conditional offer becomes an unconditional offer in UCAS Track, you will see the option to register for Adjustment. You then have five days (including weekends) to secure a new place.

2.   Researching courses

Queen Mary courses with places available through Adjustment will be published on our website, alongside our Clearing vacancies. For full course information, take a look at our course finder.

3.   How to apply

Once you’ve identified a course you’re interested in, call our Clearing hotline. The number will be published on our website in August. Tell us that you’re enquiring about joining us through Adjustment.

Please have the following information to hand:

  • your UCAS personal ID
  • the name of the course you are interested in.

Once you’ve spoken with someone on our Clearing hotline, you’ll be transferred to a member of staff within the relevant academic School. They’ll tell you whether or not we can offer you a place on your chosen course.

4.   Accepting your place

Once you confirm over the phone that you wish to accept an offer through Adjustment, we'll process your offer and you'll lose your original firm choice.

Your UCAS Track will be updated and you’ll see your new choice on the screen. You’ll also receive a confirmation email.
