Teaching

The critical care units at The Royal London Hospital and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital provide a rich and supportive environment for teaching and learning.

The unit at Royal London Hospital specialises in trauma, neurocritical care, renal and hepatobiliary. The unit at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital is predominantly cardiothoracic, ECMO and oncology. The units attract trainees from their early stages of training to senior/advanced ICM trainees, supported by a structured teaching programme which includes weekly protected consultant teaching, journal club, morbidity and mortality meetings to name a few. The units also support undergraduate teaching with medical student rotations and special study modules.
