Veronica Veleanu

Profile

I joined the School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary in September 2023. Previously, I worked as a Lecturer in Finance at the University of Surrey Business School, having started my academic career as a research and teaching fellow at the University of Nottingham School of Economics. I also held a full-time position as an analyst in asset management at Lehman Brothers Europe. I graduated with a BSc (Hons) and an MSc in Economics with Distinction from the University of Nottingham School of Economics in 2009 and completed my PhD in Applied Macroeconomics fully funded by the Economic and Social Research Council in 2013 also at the University of Nottingham.

I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and I currently teach BSc Accounting for Investment Operations Specialists (part of the BSc Applied Finance degree apprenticeship programme) and MSc Financial Statement Analysis. I am the PGT Deputy Director for Careers and Employability and committee representative for Equality, Diversion and Inclusion.
