Congratulations to our colleagues who have been recognised with this year’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching prizes at the School of Economics and Finance.

Prize for Excellence in Undergraduate Core Teaching
Awarded to Thomas Schmitz for engaging and accessible delivery of macro-finance material to students with varied mathematical ability.

Prize for Excellence in Undergraduate Elective Teaching
Awarded to Liudas Giraitis for promoting high academic standards while achieving impressive levels of student satisfaction in the teaching of advanced econometrics.

Special Commendation for Outstanding Assessment and Feedback
Awarded to Felipe Merlano for developing innovative approaches to assessing AI-supported written work, including transparent marking criteria and detailed feedback for students.

Special Commendation for Services to Undergraduate Education
Awarded to Jinu Lee for his substantial and valued contributions to the teaching of undergraduate statistics and econometrics at SEF over an extended period.

Prize for Excellence in Undergraduate Class Teaching
Awarded to Sergio Inferrera and Haiqa Ali for consistently delivering high-quality classes, responding thoughtfully to students, and demonstrating exceptional professionalism in their teaching assistant roles.

Postgraduate prizes

Prize for Excellence in Postgraduate Core Teaching
Awarded to Claudio Vallar for his clear and well-structured delivery of financial modelling, combined with outstanding student support and consistently high levels of student satisfaction.

Prize for Excellence in Postgraduate Elective Teaching
Awarded to Darren Cullen for his engaging and practice-oriented teaching in bond market strategies, bringing complex concepts to life through clear explanations and real-world applications.

Prize for Excellence in Postgraduate Teaching
Awarded to Konstantina Mari for her exceptional dedication to postgraduate teaching and unwavering support for students, particularly during the dissertation stage, providing invaluable guidance, responsiveness, and pastoral care.

These awards recognise the dedication, expertise, and commitment our academics bring to undergraduate education. Congratulations to all of this year's recipients on this well-deserved recognition.
