In Conversation with Marek Hanusch

When: Friday, December 4, 2020, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Where: Online

The School of Economics is proud to host Dr Marek Hanusch as our guest speaker for this semester.

Marek Hanusch has 12 years of experience working in international development, in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, East Asia, and Latin America. He is currently the World Bank’s senior economist for Brazil, focusing on macroeconomics, trade and investment. Marek obtained a doctorate from the University of Oxford and has written about a variety of policy issues, including areas such as economic growth, fiscal policy, environmental sustainability, agriculture, mining, external investment, jobs, and political economy. He has also published in peer-reviewed journals, including the European Economic Review, Public Choice and Economics Letters. Marek will be joining us to provide us with his personal perspectives on international development from a practitioner’s point of view.

This speech will be exclusive to QMUL SEF Undergraduate students, and it will be a nice opportunity for you to hear the perspective of a practitioner and discuss with him. The event will take place online and links for the event will be shared via another email closer to the time.

Right after the event, a social event will follow at 19:30. We will be using the social networking platform Icebreaker and you will have the opportunity to meet other students in your cohort and discuss with them.
