I woke up gay

Published:

Dr Qazi Rahman from School of Biological and Chemical Sciences at Queen Mary, University of London appeared on I Woke Up Gay on Tuesday 17 April, a documentary about Chris Birch - a young man who ‘turned gay’ after a stroke and remembers little of his previous life. His partner believes that even if he did not have a stroke, he would have realised he was gay eventually. Dr Rahman has conducted research on hundreds of volunteers and detected patterns that tell him if a person was born gay or straight, regardless of the lifestyle they currently live. He tested Chris at the Blizard Building earlier this year to determine ‘how gay his brain is’ and suggests that it was not the stroke that caused Chris to become gay, but it may have caused dormant feelings to awaken.

This story has been reported on the Telegraph website and on BBC news.
