Distance Learning

Obtain a postgraduate qualification from a prestigious Russell Group university via online learning

Our popular MA in International Relations and MSc in International Public Policy are available to study via Distance Learning.

Distance Learning is ideal if you do not – or cannot – live in London for the duration of your degree. It's also useful if you have a demanding job and are not able to regularly take time off in the daytime to attend classes.

Modules are taught on an online learning environment specifically designed for distance learning. Students primarily communicate with – and are supervised by - lecturers via electronic media through, for example, scheduled online seminars. Students also enjoy full access to the electronic library resources of QMUL and the University of London.

The intellectual content of our Distance Learning programmes are the same as campus based versions. Additionally, we hold the same expectations of your work and scholarship as we do for our campus based students, which means that your degree will be just as valuable.

The distance learning format appealed to my work/life balance. It was very beneficial being able to continue to work and place what I was learning into the international media context within which I work. The ability to be able to study during the hours that suit me made this work.

Our Distance Learning programmes in International Relations and International Public Policy are offered on a part time basis only (six semesters in two years). We also offer shorter versions of the programme that will give you a Postgraduate Diploma (four semesters) or a Postgraduate Certificate (two semesters).
