Coronavirus home schoolers can learn from Hong Kong

Professor of Politics, Professor Philip Cowley wrote an opinion piece for The Times to discuss the lessons that can be learnt from a flu outbreak in Hong Kong last year. He writes: “Just over a year ago, shortly after we moved to Hong Kong for my wife’s job, the authorities closed all the schools for a week. The cause? Some pupils had got flu. This baffled many annoyed ‘gweilo’ parents, myself included, who thought this a crazy overreaction. Maybe it was, then. But the approach seems to have worked this time.”
