Conservatives engulfed by a strident English nationalism

The Financial Times referenced a Queen Mary study in an article about conservative party membership. The article reads: “It is no secret that Conservative party activists, measured by age, gender and ethnic background, are unrepresentative of modern British society. In a study published last year, researcher including Professor Tim Bale and Dr Monica Poletti at Queen Mary University of London estimated that 97 per cent of the party’s members were white, 71 per cent were male and 44 per cent were 65 or older.”
