Professor Tim Bale, New women’s political party in Britain demands faster equality

The New York Times spoke to Professor Tim Bale as part of an article on gender equality in British politics and the aims of the Women’s Equality Party which sees UKIP as a template for creating an impact. The article reads: “UKIP’s concerns about multiculturalism, immigration and the European Union “are probably more widely shared” than those advocated by the Women’s Equality Party, Professor Bale said in a telephone interview. Rightly or wrongly, he said, British voters see other issues as more important than gender equality.”
