Digital learning is a core component of the university’s long-term strategy. We have developed a set of objectives that will enable Queen Mary to develop exceptional digital education that is truly global in its reach.
Taking advantage of rapidly evolving design approaches, educational technologies and digital learning tools, our programmes are designed to support you and all those working across the university’s faculties and schools in reaching your goals. Our work in this area:
- Creates a digital backbone for the Queen Mary campus, where courses can be designed flexibly and then constantly strengthened and developed with testing of new models
- Comes in all forms, from open educational resources (OERs) and massive open online courses (MOOCs) to short courses and stackable pay-as-you-go modules, offering greater flexibility for today’s students
- Is consistently collaborative and innovative, encouraging teamwork between academics, technology experts and industry and government partners
- Integrates seamlessly with your on-campus offering to form a cyber-physical offering that can be delivered fully online or blended depending on the student’s needs
Online learning is no longer simply an alternative way of approaching education – it must become a central tenet of what we all do. By pooling our expertise and sharing resources we can help you start to expand and diversify your educational offerings in more and more subject areas over the coming years, eventually boasting an unrivalled suite of online teaching materials and future-proofed courses.
Not only does this equip the university for an ever-changing educational landscape but it widens our impact and allows us to develop our outstanding reputation around the world in new and exciting ways. This has been at the heart of Queen Mary’s ambitions ever since it was founded, and we are immensely proud of the way that our teaching professionals have joined together to realise our digital education aims, and look forward to what comes next.
