Continuous Improvement
Connecting our EdTech ecosystem and innovative pedagogies across all schools is a priority for the Learning Accelerator. By accelerating existing practices we can help enhance them and share them across the campus and beyond. We are committed to creating a shared enabling infrastructure that will allow you to access the same cutting-edge teaching technologies as other schools and share the benefits, whether face-to-face or digitally.
We aim to optimise existing programmes for online delivery as well as developing brand new ones. In many cases we find that courses do not have to be redesigned from the ground up to work for remote students. Just understanding their needs and the roadblocks they encounter while studying online can help us and our partners to deliver an exceptional student experience.
Practical purpose
Keeping a close eye on the ever-changing landscape of education, both in the online space itself and in our students’ industries and fields, enables us to adjust our offering to reflect what people need from our university.
For us, innovation is not an end in itself – what we research and develop has to be applicable, practical and, above all, useful for you in delivering the world class education that Queen Mary is renowned for. At every step, we work closely with heads of schools and faculties across the university, as well as other academics in leadership positions, to understand how our digital pedagogies are used day-to-day. This working relationship also enables us to share responsibility for development and delivery.
