The videos below are from the Meet the Lecturer events we held in May. Each event includes a taster lecture (or two taster lectures in the case of Actuarial Science) and a Q&A session.
Single Honours Meet the Lecturer Event
This is for students studying BSc Mathematics, BSc Mathematics and Statistics, BSc Pure Mathematics, MSci Mathematics and MSci Financial Mathematics. It is also the most appropriate talk for students taking Mathematics with Foundation. The event was hosted by Dr Rosemary Harris who delivered a taster lecture titled 'From coin-tossing to colonoscopies: The maths of decision making'.
Joint Honours Meet the Lecturer Event
This talk is for students studying BSc Mathematics with Finance and Accounting, BSc Mathematics with Management and BSc Mathematics, Statistics and Financial Economics. The event was hosted by Dr Neofytos Rodosthenous who delivered a taster lecture on 'Maths, Money and Financial Markets'.
Actuarial Science Meet the Lecturer Event
This talk is for students studying BSc Actuarial Science. The event was hosted by Gaik Ng FIA and Chris Sutton FIA who delivered the taster lectures 'Net Present Value' and 'Actuarial models used in medical drug trials' respectively.
