The School of Mathematical Sciences hosted a Women in Finance networking event on 22 March 2016 which was attended by speakers from KPMG(link is external), Aviva(link is external), Mercer(link is external), Financial Conduct Authority(link is external) and the Department of Work and Pensions(link is external). The speakers gave a personal insight into working within the financial services industry as a woman and shared their personal career journeys. The event inspired the next generation of female practitioners and was a huge success as well as being extremely insightful for the students who attended.
The School of Mathematical Sciences is aiming to introduce a regular series of inspiring events to inspire young women to pursue careers within the financial services sector.
