Why is Risk Management important?

We’re in a time of great global uncertainty and organisations need specialists to help them navigate a volatile and ever-changing landscape. Risk Management is a growing sector and whether it’s climate change, supply chains, or financial crises, there is a shortage of qualified professionals to help us navigate risk.

Our MSc Risk Analytics combines the fundamentals of risk management and cutting-edge data analysis skills to ensure our graduates have the professional toolkit needed for a wide range of careers in Risk Management. We’ve also developed a programme that doesn’t require an advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics. This levels the playing field and gives graduates from all backgrounds the opportunity to train in risk analytics.

Our interdisciplinary approach to risk management allows students to explore different areas of study from climate risk and sustainability to financial crises and regulation. We’re really excited about welcoming graduates from across the University and exploring together the unique perspectives and experiences they will bring to the classroom. It’s this diversity of thinking that’s at the heart of everything we do at Queen Mary.

What’s special about Queen Mary’s programme?

  • You don’t need a background in mathematics. We invite applications from all disciplines
  • Learn computer programming languages, including Python and R
