A new BSc programme: Mathematics with Actuarial Science

Published:

The School of Mathematical Sciences is proud to announce the launch of a new programme designed to give top students the broad mathematical training and industry specialism required for a top career as an Actuary.

Actuaries specialise in the quantifying of risk. They work for insurance companies and pension providers and are some of the highest paid professionals.

The new programme has been developed in conjunction with an advisory board of actuarial professionals and is set to incorporate exemptions from professional examinations, giving students a great grounding in specialist topics. Because of the broad applicability of much of the programme material however, graduates will find themselves equally suited to a large range of other well remunerated careers requiring high levels of mathematical and statistical ability. Further information is available via our programme pages(link is external).
