The External Relations team manage the main Queen Mary University of London website and intranet.
Requests for new websites or web hosting should be made to the External Relations Web Team who will discuss your requirements with you.
Where website are used to hold data for research projects and grants, researchers should contact ITS research consultancy to discuss their project first.
Web sites typically use the www.qmul.ac.uk domain name, as standard. Additional web domain names which are required for authorised projects, can be requested via service desk. ITS may be able to provide an SSL certificate.
This applies to domain names that:
- end with "qmul.ac.uk"
- not include the prefix www.
- end with a suitable school or departmental domain (e.g. its.qmul.ac.uk or externalrealations.qmul.ac.uk)
- must not already be in-use, unless by your existing website which you plan to move to this service.
With agreement from External Relations, your domain name could:
- end with "qmul.ac.uk" and not use a departmental prefix.
Non qmul.ac.uk domain names are discouraged and may not be supported unless there is a strong business justification.
Costings for hosting and creating new websites can be discussed with the relevant team.
