Microsoft 365 for Staff

Microsoft 365 equips Queen Mary staff with apps such as Word, Excel, Outlook (email) and OneDrive, either online or via apps on your managed device.

Microsoft 365 is a platform that provides users access to their cloud based Office software which allows you to create, collaborate and share your work.

Queen Mary Staff are eligible for one of 2 Microsoft Plans.

For staff on payroll who use computing for the majority of their jobs they will have access to an Microsoft 365 A5 licence.

For other staff, such as honorary, visiting, volunteers, or Emeritus we provide an AIIDE licence.

What is available from each of these can be seen in the links below.

A5 staff licence

Microsoft 365 Education A5 delivers advanced security, analytics, and governance.

All staff (both A5 and AIIDE users) have access to MS 365 online tools on their managed and COPE machines.

AIIDE licence

For various types of staff employed by Queen Mary an AIIDE licence is a more appropriate option.

For AIIDE licences, storage capacity is limited to 100GB for OneDrive and 50GB for Outlook. These limits are still generous but cannot be exceeded.

By default, desktop office software is not accessible, as part of an AIIDE licence.  If you need the desktop Office software, please see the link to the Identity and Access Management SharePoint site below.

Desktop installation for AIIDE users

Please however choose the correct laptop option - Queen Mary managed laptop (which will be the majority) or self-managed laptop.
