Information for students from Uzbekistan

Queen Mary University of London has a long history of welcoming students from around the world. Over the years, many thousands of international students have graduated from the university and gone on to pursue successful careers. Today, we are home to students from more than 162 different countries and over 45% of our student body come from outside of the UK. This diversity contributes to a lively and welcoming community which should make you feel comfortable and at home.

We are one of the largest colleges of the University of London and one of the few with fully integrated teaching, research and residential facilities. Our setting provides our students with the benefits of both a large campus environment, and the countless academic and social opportunities provided by London.

There are currently 9 students from Uzbekistan studying at Queen Mary who are enrolled on a range of degree programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, such as Law, Economics, Biomedical Materials, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, International Financial Management and Foundation.

 

Entry requirements

Recognition of Uzbek Qualifications for Undergraduate Level

Academic:

  • Students holding the Diploma of Completion of Secondary Education or the Diploma of Specialised Secondary Education must take a Foundation Course before pursuing an undergraduate programme.
  • Applicants holding a Diploma of Post-Secondary Vocational Education might be eligible for admission to a Bachelors degree.
  • In both cases, students must have achieved 4 out of 5 to be eligible for entry to their course

Recognition of Uzbek Qualifications for Graduate Level

Masters degrees (all one year)

Academic:

The exact requirements will depend on the programme you are applying for but the following qualifications will be considered for entry onto a Queen Mary Master’s degree. Bachelor degree grade equivalents from Uzbekistan which are comparable to UK Undergraduate degree classifications:

Research degree (MPhil/PhD: 3 years)

Academic:

  • The usual entrance requirement for a research degree is a Master's degree from a UK university. However many departments also accept students with an upper second class Bachelor’s degree from a UK university
  • Students from Uzbekistan should have a Bachelor and Master degree with a 4 out of 5 – depending on the chosen course
