The UK government has guaranteed that EU students starting a degree in 2020-21 will continue to be eligible for ‘home fee status’ for the duration of their studies in England and Wales.

It means that:

  • EU students will pay the same fees as UK students for all levels of study.
  • EU students will be able to apply for funding support for the duration of their studies at Queen Mary.

Further information can be found on the UK Department of Education’s website.

Andrei Goldis

I graduated from Queen Mary in 2013 with a First Class BA degree in International Relations.

I joined the university directly after finishing secondary school in Romania with an underlying concern that I would find it difficult to get used to the British education system and living in London. However, studying at Queen Mary turned out to be a fantastic experience.

The university offers a very high standard of teaching, as demonstrated by its inclusion in the prestigious Russell Group, as well as direct access to some of the leading academics in their respective fields. I developed very good relationships with my lecturers, many of which are still ongoing today. In addition, I found the administrative staff very friendly and helpful, and the entire course organisation ran very smoothly.

Living on the Queen Mary campus is a unique opportunity, as you will be surrounded by fellow students from all over the world. It provides the perfect environment to develop longstanding friendships, as well as to explore the thrills and beauty of London, due to its proximity to vibrant East London and the city centre.

Studying at Queen Mary also equipped me with the necessary skills and experience to pursue a specialisation in European Union politics at another University of London institution and subsequently undertake a job in my envisioned field. I am thus currently working for one of the world’s leading public affairs and communications firms in its global political affairs practice.
