A combination of the ever-changing world and the economic crisis triggered by Covid-19 has opened new opportunities for investors to take advantage of but also for businesses to canvas business opportunities.

By updating the already existing Alternative Investments course to consider these latest developments and new trends, participants can expect to be at the forefront of development and understanding the key features of some of the latest international finance techniques.

The three-day online course features three modules that work as building blocks in alternative investment techniques: on Venture Capital; Private Equity; and Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs). These modules will empower participants with a solid understanding on the raison d’etre and dynamics of these transactions and how they are structured.

Co-director of the course, Professor Rodrigo Olivares-Caminal of Queen Mary University of London’s Centre for Commercial Law Studies and Director of the Institute for Global Law Economics and Finance said, "This course combines top leading academics and practitioners from around the world including some of the leading financial capitals of the world, London, Milan, New York and Singapore, that have been at the forefront of developments either in the regulatory or transactional side of things. A must."

University of Florence’s Professor Ettore Maria Lombardi who co-directed the course alongside Rodrigo said, “The Alternative Investments course represents a way to gain or increase expertise in fields that already represent the future of the economy. Especially in phase of markets’ transition such the present one, the only possibility “to be the wave” and not “to simply be within the flow” is to know and ride the new technical tools, to understand them and to have the ability to use them properly. This course offers all these possibilities in Venture Capital, Private Equity and SPACs, putting at disposal of the participants the planetary gotha of both the academic and professional worlds”.

This programme is suitable for lawyers, analysts, economists as well as policymakers, international financial regulators and those within the financial industry tout court, the course offers Continuing Professional Development in line with CPDUK and professional credits for lawyers in Italy and the EU.

The Alternative Investments Executive Course takes place from 17-19 March 2022 online. Book your place now.
