Every summer, our JP year 2 students spend two weeks in the campus to receive their professional training. They then form groups to work on a project that gives them experiences in design, development and team work. The aims of this Design & Build project are to train our students to:
The project in 2020 was to design and build a musical keyboard. The basic requirements are as follows:
The students were encouraged to implement advanced functions like delay, modulation, automatic playing, etc. Our students in Telecommunication programme contribute to this part of the project.
In addition to the hardware product, the group was also required to design and build a marketing & sales website with a supporting database. Students from our E-commerce and Internet of Things programmes can contribute with their computer science skills in this aspects.
Students' work is assessed by both our BUPT partners and our JP academics. The students present their work in English and demonstrate their products (i.e. hardware, websites, databases) to the judging panel.
