Mental Health Awareness Week: 9-15 May 2022

This year, the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week is Loneliness.

Loneliness is affecting more and more of us in the UK, and has had a huge impact on our physical and mental health during the pandemic.

Our connection to other people and our community is fundamental to protecting our mental health, and we need to find better ways of tackling the epidemic of loneliness. We can all play a part in this.

You can find out more about this year’s theme, including resources for students, on the Mental Health Foundation website.

At Queen Mary, we’ve invited national mental health charity Mind to deliver two sessions on mental health topics:

  • 11th May 10am-12pm: PD283 Staff Wellbeing - Understanding Stress and Anxiety
  • 13th May 10am-12pm: PD284 Staff Wellbeing - Understanding Loneliness

Further reading: Library Services have curated a diverse reading list on a range of wellbeing and mental health topics, all of which is available to staff through the Queen Mary libraries.

To learn more about these sessions and book your place, search for the course codes above on the course booking site.  Please also remember the range of support available for Queen Mary staff, all year round.
