Planet & Place

We engage in research and teaching activities that
seek to understand and improve planetary and population health. This work explores how issues such as climate change, food security, land and water management, reproductive health, chronic and infectious diseases are intrinsically related to a healthy planet and healthy local ecosystem. It also examines the unequal effects of environmental degradation for groups across different locations. Our work is therefore underpinned by a commitment to environmental justice and participatory activity with local communities to generate impactful research and policy change at a national and global scale. This includes projects with partners in Peru, Thailand, and the United Kingdom, as well as the United Nations Population Fund.
