qLegal celebrates the end of a record breaking year

This year, qLegal delivered clinical legal education to more students, worked with more partners and provided legal advice and education to more start-ups than ever before! Ending the year on a high note, students and staff recently celebrated their successes at the mixed-mode qLegal graduation party.

qLegal continued to expand in the 2021-22 academic year; welcoming three new full-time staff members and delivering clinical legal education to over 260 postgraduate law students.

Following an impressive induction programme delivered by qLegal staff and external lawyers, students put their legal, professional and practical skills to use by:

  • Preparing bespoke advice letters for 69 clients;
  • Delivering 24 workshops/online resources;
  • Supporting 47 businesses in-house through the externship programme;
  • Delivering six collaborative consultancy projects; and
  • Participating in interdisciplinary programmes offered with linguistic, tech and psychology students as part of SKETCH.

qLegal celebrated these achievements at a hybrid graduation ceremony with around 100 students joining either in person or online. The event was an opportunity for students to reflect on their experience with qLegal, celebrate their achievements and mark their transition to qLegal alumni.

With delivery surpassing all previous years, many new partnerships forged with external supervisors, start-ups and collaborators, and a growing alumni network, qLegal is going from strength to strength!
