Dates and deadlines of the application process are published below. Applicants should note that these dates and deadlines apply to courses delivered on site at Queen Mary University of London. The dates and deadlines for our Distance Learning courses may vary. Please contact the Postgraduate Admissions team for further information.
You are encouraged to apply as early as possible to allow sufficient time for your application to be considered. In the event that a course becomes full, we will no longer be able to consider applications. We will update the relevant course pages on our Taught Programme Finder as soon as possible in such instances.
In addition to the deadlines specified below, some programmes have specific application deadlines - please check the relevant course pages on our Taught Programme Finder to check if there is an earlier deadline for the programme/s of interest to you. If no deadline is specified then the below deadlines will apply.

University Christmas Closure
Online applications may be submitted during this period. We will endeavour to respond to applicant enquiries and process newly submitted applications as soon as possible upon reopening in January.
ATAS deadline
ATAS deadline. Advised deadline for postgraduate overseas students who will require an ATAS certificate
Deadline for postgraduate Overseas applications
Applications from overseas applicants requiring a Student Route Visa to study in the UK must be submitted by this date. Some programmes have earlier application deadlines - please check the relevant course pages on our Taught Programme Finder to check if there is an earlier deadline for the programme/s of interest to you.
Deadline for postgraduate distance learning applications and postgraduate Home applications
Applications from Home applicants wishing to join a Taught Postgraduate course and all applicants wishing to study a Distance Learning course must be submitted by this date.
Deadline for postgraduate applicants to provide documents to meet outstanding offer conditions
Applicants with a conditional offer will need to provide documents showing that they have met their conditions by this date.
CAS deadline
Latest date for students applying for a visa overseas to request a CAS number. Any overseas applicants applying for a visa overseas who require a CAS must request their CAS within sufficient time. We will not normally issue a CAS to anyone applying after this date.
Enrolment deadline
Any students joining Queen Mary University must have enrolled by this date.
Please note we advise you to provide your documents for confirmation by Monday 11th September 2023. Providing them later than this date may impact your ability to enrol on time for the start of Welcome Week.
Deferral deadline
If you would like to defer your place to January 2024 or September 2024, please inform the Postgraduate Admissions team by this deadline.
The dates shown are for courses starting on 18th September 2023. Please be aware that your course may start earlier than this; you can check your offer letter to confirm your start date. If your course has an early start date, your academic School will be in touch with you over the summer to advise of key dates for enrolment and induction.
Deadline for postgraduate Home and Distance Learning applications
Deposit deadline
Applicants holding an offer for any of our postgraduate taught programmes which require a tuition fee deposit will be required to pay their deposit by this deadline. Applicants will not be issued with their CAS or be able to pre-enrol until the deposit is paid.

Enrolment week
All students joining Queen Mary University of London will be expected to complete their enrolment. Further information will be published on our New Students pages during Summer 2023.

If you would like to defer your place to January 2025 or September 2025, please inform the Postgraduate Admissions team by this deadline.
Any applicant, who is not a European Economic Area national or national of Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland or the United States, applying for a Taught Postgraduate course, may require an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) security certificate.
If you require an ATAS security certificate, you will need to obtain your ATAS certificate, before requesting a CAS. Queen Mary University of London will not issue a CAS until your ATAS certificate has been obtained. Applicants should note, during busy periods, it can take up to six weeks to receive your ATAS security certificate.
