Joint press conference with Margaret Thatcher and Garret FitzGerald on the day of the signing of the Anglo-Irish Agreement. Both premiers are questioned by journalists on the content of the Anglo-Irish Agreement. They detail that the agreement has three elements – a commitment to the validity of the two traditions in Northern Ireland, the principle whereby a United Ireland can only come about by consent of all the people in Northern Ireland and the establishment of an intergovernmental conference with a permanent secretariat.
