As part of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement a commitment to the early release of republican and loyalist prisoners was given by the British and Irish governments provided their paramilitary organisations maintained a ceasefire. Six days ahead of the referendum on the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland Peacock, Cameron and Thomas discuss the emotional, moral and political difficulties of this aspect of the accord.
