Earlier that day it was revealed that Richard Haass had asked the five principal political parties to respond to the idea of a new flag for Northern Ireland as part of his talks on flags, parading and the past. The story was publicised one year to the day that Belfast City Council voted to only fly the Union flag above City Hall on designated days rather than the entire calendar year. Callers respond to the Haass suggestion. The Nolan Show is a daily current affairs programme on BBC Radio Ulster.
