Audio interview with Sam McBride, political editor of the Belfast Newsletter, and Eamonn Mallie, Northern Ireland political commentator, by Stephen Nolan for the Nolan Show on 2 August 2013. During that summer Peter Robinson came under increased pressure from the unionist community concerning his leadership of the DUP. On 30 July Sammy Wilson was replaced as Minister for Finance in the Northern Ireland Executive by Simon Hamilton, leading to speculation that Wilson might consider himself as a potential candidate to be the next leader of the DUP. In this interview McBride and Mallie discuss Wilson’s credentials as a future leader of the DUP. The Nolan Show is a daily current affairs programme on BBC Radio Ulster.
