On 11 February Peter Mandelson suspended devolved government in Northern Ireland on the basis of unsatisfactory movement on the decommissioning issue. On 25 March, meanwhile, David Trimble defeated a challenge to his leadership of the UUP by Rev. Martin Smyth, 56.8% to 43.2%. In this interview Mandelson discusses the possibility of a return to devolved government in Northern Ireland and David Trimble's position as leader of the UUP. Breakfast with Frost was a weekly BBC current affairs programme.
