Video interview with Patrick Magee, the Brighton bomber, by Tim Sebastian for BBC HARDtalk on 11 October 2002. On 12 October 1984 the Provisional IRA detonated a bomb at the Grand Hotel in Brighton, in advance of the Conservative Party conference, with the intention of assassinating Margaret Thatcher and her cabinet. Five people were killed and thirty-one injured in the explosion but Thatcher survived the blast uninjured. In this interview Magee discusses his reasons for involvement in armed conflict and how he views the development of the Peace Process. HARDTalk is the flagship news programme on BBC World News.
