Interview with Nigel Dodds and Gerry Kelly by Stephen Nolan for BBC Radio The Ulster Nolan Show on 30 September 2013

Published:

Audio interview with Nigel Dodds, DUP MP for Belfast North, and Gerry Kelly, Sinn Féin MLA for Belfast North, by Stephen Nolan for BBC Radio Ulster The Nolan Show on 30 September 2013. On 9 July the Parades Commission ruled that an Orange Order parade could not pass through the Ardoyne area of Belfast on its return journey on 12 July, a decision which led to clashes between protesters and the PSNI in north and east Belfast for several days. Protesters against the decision subsequently set-up a camp at Twaddell Avenue, Belfast, to demand a reversal of the Parades Commission ruling. On 29 September the Orange Order submitted an application to complete the original parade and hold talks with local residents thereafter. In this interview Dodds and Kelly discuss possible resolutions to the issue. The Nolan Show is a daily current affairs programme on BBC Radio Ulster.
