Transcript of an interview with Mo Mowlam, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, by John Humphrys for BBC On the Record on 28 June 1998. Following the yes vote in the referendum on the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement elections to the Northern Ireland Assembly have given rise to what appears to be a fragile pro- Agreement majority. Mowlam admits that she would have preferred to see more pro-Agreement politicians elected. She states that decommissioning is central to the success of the Agreement. Humphrys questions her on the potential for destabilisaton and violence as marching season approaches.
