Transcript of an interview with Martin McGuinness, Northern Ireland Minister of Education, by John Humphrys for BBC On the Record on 28 May 2000. Following a statement from the IRA on decommissioning, the UUP, in a close vote, have decided to go back into the Executive with Sinn Féin. Martin McGuinness states that he is happy that the institutions will be reinstated. Humphrys also discusses with McGuinness the Patten report and the future of the RUC. On the Record was BBC's flagship political programme.
