Audio interview with Judith Gillespie, Deputy Chief Constable of the PSNI, by Stephen Nolan for BBC Radio Ulster The Nolan Show in August 2013. On the night of 10 August violence erupted in central Belfast as a loyalist counter-demonstration sought to prevent a dissident republican rally take place in the city. Fifty-six PSNI officers were injured in the disturbances. Members of the PSNI had been injured in several incidents relating to parading during the summer of 2013. Gillespie discusses the impact of these events on the PSNI. The Nolan Show is a daily current affairs programme on BBC Radio Ulster.
